Where to stay? HOSTEL, AIRBNB OR HOTEL
By: Amanda Terrigno
Travelling can be stressful, complicated, overwhelming and expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! There are many ways and options in order to save a few dollars when it comes to travelling like where to stay. Will it be a Hostel? An Airbnb? or a Hotel?
Hostels are very beneficial for meeting new people (if you are that kind of person), being open to being around people you dont know (and potentially sharing a room with them), potiential breakfast (may be simple but the option may be there). However, a few cons on renting hostels are lack of privacy, noise level, and ‘usually’ having to share major spaces (ex: bathrooms / showers). Although, staying in a hostel can be VERY cost efficient, especially when sharing rooms, some rates can start as low as 39$ a night.
Airbnb service has several options ; renting a place to yourself, sharing a room within the same place, or renting a section of a place with your own seperate entrance (almost like a guesthouse). Therefore, with Airbnb’s , the option of privacy is possible and available. You also have the option to cook, because there’s a kitchen and the having that sense of feeling of being at home! Although, staying in an Airbnb can sometimes run up the bill … some can be less costly than others, and there is usually a “cleaning/service fee” to pay which can run from 100$ for the stay.
Hotels can be for those who just want to sit back and not have to worry! Sometimes we want to feel pampered, spoiled and taken care of with the service of food being there and ready, the ability to grab a drink, have your shower ready and have your room cleaned daily. Ofcourse, all depends on how you want to spend your holidays and budget!
Have you decided what kind of accommodation you prefer when you travel?
